Jim Lavin’s early academic background in both cognitive psychology and contemplative religion merged nicely together in his various career paths. Jim was the primary event coordinator for the Wilderness Therapy Symposium for its first 18 years, as well as the administrative manager for the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Council (OBHC) from 2015- 21. Jim was part of Naropa University for 10 years, both as a graduate student and event coordinator for community workshops and professional conferences. Jim also worked for 7 years in Hawaii as a one-on-one paraprofessional with children and young adults in special education. Jim is currently retired and living in Florida, enjoying the sunshine and warm waters.
